All Things Bright and Beautiful

14th April 2016

Boudoir sessions often appear on a lady's 'list of things to', but I've never knowingly shot a bucket list Boudoir session....until now that is...!
It was great to speak to this lady at her ordering session, telling me that even though her partner didn't understand why she had the Boudoir session, she had told him he didn't understand, just accept it was going to happen....it was on 'the list' after all! Boom!

Back to the session itself. The ambient light for this shoot was very bright indeed, which far from being problematic, only helped to give a very natural high key feel to the images. This is itself was a bit of a bonus for a shoot in March. Normally I'd be reaching for the artificial lighting! I don't overly plan how I'm going to light my sessions, relying more on decisions made at the time of arrival. I honestly think you have to go with what's happening, the results will look a lot more natural for sure.

A key feature of my Boudoir sessions is that they are a very light-hearted affair, with this one being no different. The standard of banter between the client and her chaperone friend was outstandingly high (which entertained me hugely), but more importantly helped keep everything relaxed.
Another interesting fact about this shoot, was that it is part of a growing trend of photo sessions which are taking place further and further away from my base in Gorleston. It is pleasing for me to see the word (and the business) spreading further afield. So don't be put off by distance...have camera will travel!!

The fantastic make-up for this session was carried out by Make-Up Artist Tamsin Morton, you can take a look at more of her work, and contact her through her Facebook Page.
