Being True to You
31st December 2025

I love Bridal Boudoir sessions. Like all other Eterno Boudoir shoots, they are beautiful, but the sentiment behind them (a gift for a husband to be) is special in its own kind of way. They always have a slightly different to feel to the proceedings, probably due to the forthcoming wedding; with the excitement, talk of the plans being made and future happiness that it brings. The downside (for me anyway) is that as they are a special gift, the chance for me to share the images usually has to wait….quite a long time too. This Bridal Boudoir session was no different, although . The need for secrecy and not to spoil the surprise is paramount, but I still feel a sense of frustration at having to wait!

The star of this particular shoot is Sara. It seems a very long time ago that I worked with her on her Bridal Boudoir photo session. It was four months to be precise, but patience is a virtue….or so I am told. Like most wedding plans, there is a long period of time for the planning and organisation of the big day. The first enquiry I received about this boudoir session was over a year ago, so it’s definitely not been rushed through.

Although organising a photo session as a surprise has it’s issues, so having time to make the plans is a definite must. Not everything will run smoothly after all. The consultation and proof meetings at a local hotel bar went as expected, the shoot itself however, was at another hastily re-arranged hotel, due to issues with the room at the original hotel of choice. But the extra planning involved is definitely worth it to maintain the surprise.
It wasn’t just Sara and myself having to keep schtum, in on the secret was also Sara’s future Sister-in-law, the chaperone for the day...the list was growing…!

So why did I title this post ‘Being True to You’?
I have to say at this point, that Sara was amazing throughout not just the shoot, but the whole process from start to finish. She totally owned the experience, which was just fantastic to see, but throughout, she was very keen to be seen as ‘Sara’ in the final shots.

We did a selection of photos from implied topless, through to the traditional lingerie images, with some different styled ones in between. It’s these ones which I particularly wanted to share with you all in this post. (You can, of course, see more on my Eterno Boudoir Instagram Account. Simply give it a follow it to see images not shown here over the next week or two.)

I loved Sara’s thinking about what imagery she wanted, in particular what to wear. It was definitely centered around being true who she is, and not what people generally think Boudoir should be…..namely lingerie shots.

Being a bridal Boudoir, we did bridal style shots, some complete with veil, some ‘standard’ implied images. Thrown into the more traditional came (in Sara’s words) a few geeky photos, and also some wearing hubby’s favourite sports shirt...and my favourite set, the baggy jumper shots….all, I’m sure you will agree, beautiful and some very different.
Why You Should Have Your Say.
From my point of view, it’s always great to try new things. I am very open to (and indeed encourage) ladies to put their own stamp on proceedings. Whilst not everyone is comfortable doing this, in which case I am more happy to lead an unsure client to what styles/poses etc. may suit her. It is great to add a bit of ‘you’ to the final shots. After all, you are unique, and this should be celebrated….don’t you agree?

Before I sign off, I must give a special mention to Danielle Cox of Danielle Cox Makeup Artistry, who did Sara’s beautiful makeup (and hair) for the shoot. Sara looked stunning, and I would recommend you to go over to Danielle’s Facebook Page and Instagram account and give them a like and follow!!
